Integrated Plastic Waste Management in Korle Municipality

Plastic pollution is one of the biggest challenges of the century across the globe. Globally, over 8 million tons of plastic waste enter the oceans annually, with devastating effects on marine life and human health.

In the Korle Municipality, Green Diversity Foundation is piloting an integrated plastic waste management programme that combines collection, sorting, recycling, and community education.

The initiative demonstrates practical, scalable approaches to reducing plastic leakage into waterways — a model GDF Africa hopes to expand to additional municipalities across Ghana.
